Truro Honors Two Educators for 60-Plus Years at Central School
Truro closed out the week honoring two longtime Truro Central School educators whose combined careers stretch more than 60 years, while also launching a public process to shape the town's open space and recreation future for the next decade.
TOWN HALL
The town announced Friday that Nancy Winslow and Alice Rieselbach are being recognized for more than 60 years of collective service to Truro Central School. The tribute acknowledges their dedication, compassion, and lasting impact on generations of students and on the broader school community. Full details are posted at the town's News Flash page. Separately, Truro announced it is updating its Open Space and Recreation Plan — the document that will set the town's priorities for conservation, parks, and recreational access through the mid-2030s. Residents can weigh in three ways: attend an upcoming community forum, email ideas or questions to pio@truro-ma.gov, or visit the project page at www.truro-ma.gov/osrplan. The town has not yet published a forum date, so residents interested in participating should watch that page for scheduling. (https://www.truro-ma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=192)
Drivers on Pole Dike Road should plan for delays beginning the week of June 29. Contractor N&M Excavating will be installing components on a newly placed culvert as part of the Herring River Restoration Project. The road will remain open, but work crews will slow traffic through the area. (https://www.truro-ma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=190)
Also on the town's homepage: the Select Board will hold a hybrid public hearing on July 28 at 5 p.m. to present its Goals and Objectives for fiscal year 2027, review the prior year's goals, and report on accomplishments.

The Truro Public Library is displaying poetry in its Anne H. Brock Room, featuring work from a collection titled "M-Ocean" by Jody Shyllberg. The library's seed library is also active for the season — residents looking to start a garden can stop in and pick up seeds while supplies last.
