Bourne Splash Pad Opens June 19; Senior Survey Deadline Approaches July 1
The Bourne Community Splash Pad at Buzzards Bay Park will open for the season this Thursday, June 19, giving families their first chance to cool off at the interactive water feature this summer. Meanwhile, residents 60 and older still have until July 1 to weigh in on a town-wide needs assessment that will help shape senior services for years ahead.
TOWN HALL
The town confirmed this week that the Bourne Community Splash Pad at Buzzards Bay Park opens Thursday, June 19. The free outdoor attraction features interactive water elements and is open to families all summer long.
Separately, Bourne has teamed up with UMass Boston to conduct a Community Needs Assessment targeting residents aged 60 and older. The survey, which runs through July 1, is available online or by mail. Town officials say responses will directly inform the design of future senior programs, policies, and services.
SCHOOLS
Bourne Public Schools is in the final stretch of the academic year, with a cluster of end-of-year events running through next week. On Monday, June 15, Bourne Intermediate School holds its Grade 3 Field Day, and Bournedale Elementary School hosts the ParentChild+ Graduation Celebration from 5 to 6 p.m. The Bourne Middle School Spring Choral Concert follows on Tuesday, June 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The district calendar notes that June 17 marks what was originally set as the 180th and final day of school before the calendar was adjusted; Grade 5 Field Day at BIS and an EL Celebration at 4:30 p.m. are also on tap that day.
