Town Schedules June 24 Public Hearing on Monument Beach Marina Redevelopment
BOURNE — The Town of Bourne is inviting residents to help shape the future of the Monument Beach Marina waterfront, with a public hearing set for Wednesday, June 24 — the most consequential waterfront planning event on the town calendar this summer.
TOWN HALL
The town's News Flash announced the June 24 public hearing as an opportunity for residents to learn about new Monument Beach Marina redevelopment plans and share their ideas for the waterfront. No details on the specific proposals were released alongside the announcement, making in-person attendance the clearest way to get an early look.
Also announced: all non-emergency town offices and services will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Curbside rubbish and recycling collection will run on its normal schedule that day. June 19 also marks the opening of the town's Splash Pad.
The Town of Bourne is accepting Letters of Interest to fill a vacancy for Town Meeting Moderator; the selected individual will serve until the next Annual Election. The deadline to apply is July 9, 2026.
Finally, a community needs assessment survey targeting residents aged 60 and older is open through July 1. The survey is part of ongoing planning for senior services and is available now.
SCHOOLS
Tomorrow, June 17, was originally the 180th and final day of school on the district calendar before the end-of-year date was adjusted. The Bourne Intermediate School will hold its Grade 5 Field Day all day. Two afternoon events also land on June 17: an EL Celebration runs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and a Peek into Preschool session is scheduled from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. for families exploring the integrated preschool program.
On Thursday, June 18, the Bourne Middle School Band Concert runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. All Bourne Public Schools are closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth.
