Patuisset Beach Closed; Marina Hearing Set for June 24

BOURNE — Patuisset Beach is temporarily closed to swimmers and water-based activities, the town announced, making it a heads-up morning for anyone planning a summer outing. Meanwhile, the town has set a public hearing on a Monument Beach Marina redevelopment plan for June 24.

TOWN HALL

Patuisset Beach is off-limits for swimming and all water activities until further notice, according to a News Flash posted on the town website. No timeline for reopening was included in the announcement; residents should check the town's News Flash feed before heading out.

The town has announced a public hearing on the future of Monument Beach Marina, scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, at 4:30 p.m. at Bourne Middle School. Residents are invited to hear about redevelopment plans for the waterfront site and offer their input.

Town Hall and all non-emergency offices will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. The closure will not affect curbside rubbish and recycling collection, which runs on its regular schedule.

Also Friday: the town's splash pad is set to open June 19. The senior community needs assessment survey, open to residents aged 60 and older, remains available through July 1.

SCHOOLS

Bourne Public Schools will be closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth. The last day of school is Friday, June 26, which will be an early-release day. The School Committee has a retreat and meeting scheduled for July 1 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
