State Grants Boost Shining Sea Bikeway Repaving as Sewer Road Closures Expand
Road closures tied to the ongoing sewer project and a state grant boost for the Shining Sea Bikeway are the two most concrete developments reaching Falmouth residents this Thursday.
TOWN HALL
The town's sewer construction project is bringing a fresh round of traffic disruptions to two corridors this month. Brick Kiln Road between Sandwich Road and Oxbow Road has been closed since June 22, and starting June 29 Maravista Avenue Extension will be closed between Route 28 and Mattapan Street. Both closures run 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and are scheduled to remain in place through July 27. Drivers should plan alternate routes during those hours.
Separately, the town's Level 2 Significant Drought designation, issued June 17, remains in effect. Residents are reminded to follow water-use guidelines, and the town's spring lawn care guidance — focused on reducing runoff and protecting water quality — is available on the town website.
