Sewer Construction Adds Two Road Closures Starting Next Week; Drought Persists
Two new sewer-project road closures will affect Falmouth drivers beginning Monday, the town announced Thursday afternoon, as residents also navigate a Level 2 Significant Drought and adjusted trash pickup schedules tied to Friday's Juneteenth holiday.
TOWN HALL
The town's ongoing sewer project is adding a fresh wave of traffic disruptions. Starting Monday, June 22, Brick Kiln Road will close between Sandwich Road and Oxbow Road. A second closure follows the week after: on June 29, Maravista Avenue Extension shuts between Route 28 and Mattapan Street. Both closures operate weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and run through July 27. Residents on or near either corridor should identify alternate routes before next week.
The Juneteenth holiday on Friday, June 19, will delay curbside collection for some routes; check falmouthma.gov for your pickup day. The town is also co-sponsoring two Juneteenth celebration events β details are posted on the town website.
Saturday, June 20, is the town's Household Hazardous Waste Collection day. Full drop-off information is available at falmouthma.gov.
A Level 2 Significant Drought declaration remains in effect, with the town issuing an updated notice Wednesday. Residents are asked to review associated water-use guidance posted online.
