Bourne School Committee Honors Over a Dozen Staff and Students at June Meeting
BOURNE — June 3, 2026 — Bourne School Committee celebrated its annual Navigator Awards at the June 3 meeting, honoring more than a dozen staff members and several students for exemplifying district core values. Superintendent Dr. Joe, presenting alongside Chair Donnell Beals and committee member McCray, noted the ceremony — now in roughly its sixth year — drew what he described as the largest crowd the program has seen. Staff honorees included nurse leader Rebecca Eseb, wellness teacher Kathy Cleary, and educator Michelle Bowlin, who was recognized for more than two decades of service; student honorees included Amelia August, Kaya Bingaman, and four students nominated by teacher Kat Kulis. The available broadcast recording ended during the ceremony; the agenda also listed votes on a Memorandum of Agreement related to the Move One Up Plan, a one-year lease with Champions for pre-K space, and preliminary field trip approvals for the 2026-27 school year — outcomes of which were not captured in the available source material.
