Falmouth Conservation Commission continues Walker Street project over plan dispute

FALMOUTH — June 10, 2026 — Falmouth Conservation Commission continues contested Walker Street rebuild after engineer presents unapproved revised plan. Conservation staff halted proceedings on the 65 Walker Street application by James Pellow and Robyn Shamah after engineer Zach Buczynski of Bracken Engineering presented a revised site plan at the June 10 hearing without prior staff review, a move staff said implicates open meeting law. Conservation Agent Jen told Buczynski the commission's local wetland bylaw independently bars any increase in septic design flow within 100 feet of a wetland, regardless of what the Board of Health decides on the applicants' pending variance to lift a two-bedroom deed restriction. "We specifically asked Bracken Engineering not to submit a revised plan the night of a hearing to the commission without the board reviewing it first," she said. The hearing was continued to June 24. The commission also voted orders of conditions for 380 Wild Harbor Road and 29 Miami Avenue, issued three unanimous negative determinations on routine drainage and vegetation projects, and closed the hearing on a renovation at 86 Edgewater Drive East with no net increase in impervious surface.
